Import a Greek PSYMO alignment
Read an S01 horizontal file, an S02 profile and an S03 superelevation diagram into the alignment solver.
In Alignment Solver the import lands in the alignment that is open. If that alignment already has data, confirm the replacement. If nothing is open, the file opens as a new tab named after the file.
Horizontal — S01
Import > PSYMO Horizontal (S01)…
The file starts with the start chainage. The first and last PI lines are easting, northing and a name. Every PI between them also carries a radius and the spiral in and out:
StartChainage
Pi_X Pi_Y Pi_Name
Pi_X Pi_Y Radius SpiralInValue SpiralInParam SpiralOutValue SpiralOutParam Pi_Name
Pi_X Pi_Y Pi_Name
The spiral parameter code is:
- Length L
- A parameter, with L = A² / R
- Clothoid diversion ΔR, with L = √(24 · R · ΔR)
- Length of a cubic parabola
- Cubic-parabola diversion ΔR
- Length of the tangent of a cubic parabola — not supported
Codes 4 and 5 are implemented, and the manual says they have not been checked against a real PSYMO sample. Treat a cubic parabola from a field S01 file with care until you have compared it with a known file.
Vertical and superelevation
Import > PSYMO Vertical (S02)… reads station, elevation, and a vertical-curve radius on the intermediate PVIs. The radius is converted to a curve length with L = R · |g_out − g_in|.
Import > PSYMO Superelevations (S03)… is two blocks of station and value (percent). The left side comes first, then a line 0 0, then the right side.
LandXML 1.2, including horizontal, vertical and station equations, is Import > LandXML….
