Review outliers and solve the station again
Deactivate the rounds the adjustment flags, compare the statistics, and undo if the station got worse.
After a solve, an observation whose absolute standardized residual is above the threshold is an outlier. The threshold is Outlier Threshold on the station, and the default is 3.0.
Phase 1 — the checklist
- Select the station.
- Choose Solve > Deactivate Outliers & Re-solve.
- Read the list. It is sorted with the worst R first. Each row shows the type (HZ, VZ or SD), the point, the cycle, Face Left and Face Right, the average, the residual and the R value.
- Every outlier is ticked. Clear the tick on a round you want to keep.
- Click Deactivate Selected. Cancel leaves the station as it was.
Phase 2 — before and after
The dialog then shows S², the standard deviation, the maximum residual and the observation count, each with the value before, the value after, and the change.
- Undo turns those observations back on, solves again, and returns to the checklist.
- Review New Outliers opens the checklist again when the new solution flags different rounds. That chain stops after 5 passes.
- Close keeps the result.
The station tree updates its S value when the dialog closes.
